Privacy policy
What BusSchedules.com collects when you visit, and what we do with it.
Last updated October 24, 2026
The short version
- We count visits with Google Analytics, and only after you allow it where the law asks us to.
- We don’t ask for your name, email or payment details. There are no accounts or sign-up forms.
- We don’t show ads, and we don’t sell or share your personal information.
- When you book, you buy from the bus company on its own website, and its privacy policy applies.
Who we are
BusSchedules.com is run by Transcor Data Services, LLC (“TDS”, “we”), 6440 Southpoint Parkway, Suite 210, Jacksonville, FL 32216. TDS is the ticketing and scheduling platform behind the timetables on this site. Where privacy laws use the term, TDS is the “controller” of the information described here.
What we collect
Analytics
If you allow analytics cookies, Google Analytics records how the site is used: the pages you view (which shows the cities and routes you looked up), the site that sent you here, your device type, browser and screen size, and your rough location (city and country, worked out from your IP address). Google Analytics 4 doesn’t store IP addresses. We see these numbers in reports, not as a record of you by name.
Whether analytics runs depends on where you are and what you choose:
- In the European Economic Area, the UK and Switzerland, analytics cookies stay off unless you click Accept.
- Elsewhere, analytics cookies are on unless you click Reject.
- If your browser sends a Global Privacy Control signal, we treat it as Reject and don’t ask.
Advertising cookies are off for everyone. With analytics off, Google may still receive a few cookieless signals (such as that a page was loaded) so it can model overall visit counts. These carry no cookie and can’t be tied to you across visits.
Server logs
Like every website, our web host records each request: your IP address, the page asked for, the time, your browser’s name and the page that linked here. We use these logs to keep the site running and to stop abuse.
What we don’t collect
We never ask for your name, email address, phone number or payment details. The city search runs in your browser, using a city list it downloads, and we only see the page it opens. We don’t use ad networks, social media pixels or fingerprinting.
Cookies and browser storage
| Name | Kind | What it’s for | How long |
|---|---|---|---|
_ga | Cookie | Google Analytics: tells one visit from another | 2 years |
_ga_3XN32X9DXV | Cookie | Google Analytics: keeps track of the current visit | 2 years |
bs-consent | Browser storage | Your answer to the cookie banner, so we don’t ask on every page | Until you clear it |
bs-mode | Browser storage | Your Bus / Train / All choice on timetables | Until you clear it |
The two Google Analytics cookies are set only when analytics is allowed. If you click Reject after accepting, we delete them. The two browser storage items stay on your device and are never sent to us.
Booking with a bus company
We don’t sell tickets. A “Book” button opens the bus company’s own ticket website. The link carries the trip, the date and a tag that says you came from BusSchedules.com, and nothing about you. What you enter there, and what you buy, is covered by that company’s privacy policy. Many of these ticket sites run on TDS’s ticketing platform, which handles your booking for the bus company.
Other services the pages use
- Google Analytics (Google LLC), as described above. Google’s privacy policy explains how it handles the data, and Google offers a browser add-on that turns Google Analytics off on every site.
- OpenFreeMap. Maps on our pages start as a drawing made by our own site. If you press Show interactive map, your browser loads map images from OpenFreeMap (openfreemap.org), which sees your IP address. Nothing is sent to OpenFreeMap until you press the button.
- Google Maps. “Map” links open Google Maps at a stop. Nothing is sent to Google until you click one.
How we use it
We use what we collect to see which pages people find useful, to find broken pages and wrong times, to decide which routes and features to work on next, and to keep the site secure. We don’t use it to target advertising, and we don’t sell it or share it for advertising.
Google Analytics keeps visit-level data for 14 months and then deletes it. Summary reports, which hold totals and nothing about any one visit, are kept after that. We keep server logs for up to 14 months.
Google processes analytics data for us as our service provider, on servers that may be outside your country, including in the United States.
Your choices and rights
You can change your cookie choice at any time with Cookie settings at the bottom of every page, block or delete cookies in your browser, or turn on Global Privacy Control.
Depending on where you live (for example California and other U.S. states, the European Economic Area or the UK), you may have the right to ask what information we hold about you, to have it corrected or deleted, and to object to how we use it. You also have the right not to be treated differently for using these rights. Because we don’t collect names or contact details, we usually can’t link analytics data to a person, but we’ll help where we can. To make a request, contact us as described below. In the EEA and UK you can also complain to your data protection authority.
Children
BusSchedules.com isn’t aimed at children under 13, and we don’t knowingly collect information about them.
Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, we’ll update it here and change the “Last updated” date at the top.
